Ports

The only way to travel to Tinos Island is only through the sea. Two of the major harbors of Greece, are linked with Tinos Island, namely Piraeus and Rafina ports. You can easily and comfortably travel from Piraeus, Rafina and the surrounding islands to Tinos by ferry. The journey from Piraeus to Tinos Island lasts about 5 hours and about 4 hours from Rafina port. The highspeeds take approximately half the time.

There are daily ferries from Pireaus and Rafina to Tinos Island. You can book your ticket either in local agencies located in the ports or online in the following sites:

There are actually two ports in Tinos, the new one and the old one. The new port of Tinos is in Pallada which is close enough to the center of Hora while the old one is exactly in the center of Hora. When you reach Tinos and get off the ship you will see the road leading to Panagia of Tinos.

Following, some useful instructions are given in order to help you find the best option for you:

• Rafina port is further away from the city center of Athens than Piraeus port. Piraeus port is also accessible through public transport: the train “Electricos” can get you from Omonoia (city center) to Piraeus in about 30-minutes time.
• If you plan to travel during July and August, it’s best if you have booked several days or weeks earlier to avoid hitches.
• You should know that round-trip/return ferry tickets come with a considerable discount.

Tinos Port

The nearest airport is in Mykonos Island. It takes 30 minutes to go from Mykonos to Tinos by sea.
