Update 1: ิhe household waste drying technologycontinuous its development after the end of the project. A new LIFE+ project that uses household dried bio-waste for the production of high quality bioethanol has already started. Many Municipalities in Greece have already showed great interest for this technology.During the "DRYWASTE" project, the potential of the final dry product for ethanol production was studied. The results showed that the dry bio-waste has the potentials to be used for ethanol production. The EC funded the "Waste2Bio" project which foresees the construction of the first pilot scale dried bio-waste to bioethanol facility in the EU. The facility will be ready at the end of 2013 and will operate for an 8,5 month period during 2014.
